This is what Chloe has been doing lately:

She was so engrossed with the birthstones that she's been memorizing them and decided to make her own interpretation. She asked me to use my laptop so she could go to paint program and draw these precious stones based on her imagination, and that includes the colors, too.

Human Christmas Tree

Last November 19, 2010, Chloe's school required them to dress up as a Human Christmas Tree out of non-biodegradable items. We thought that the school wanted them to come up something creative and not to spend on their costume. I had a hard time thinking of what to do with my daughter until finally I decided to have her hair looked like this (where I can put the plastic caps that served as Christmas balls):

For her costume, my daughter protested because she said that a Christmas tree is colored Green not White! But since I cannot find anything green around the house, unless I have it sewn, I settled for something white. I told Chloe that we used to have a white Christmas tree before so she agreed. I put on some discs, some plastic Christmas balls and few poinsettia flowers and made a star out of straw. Well, I was trying to be creative but when we arrived at their school, whoa! A lot of parents went out of their way to really look for a seamstress and have all the plastic materials sewn together so that they would look like a real Christmas Tree! I guess they were after for the prize, huh. Some don't looked like a Human Christmas tree anymore but a beautiful flower, others looked like they were going to dance salsa, hehe. What we only wanted for our daughter is compliance to the school's requirement and enjoy the experience.

However, when the kids were paraded at the covered court to show off their costume, Chloe was sweating all over and can no longer stand the heat. We were too glad not to be included in the top 15 because we can go home and Chloe can change. When we arrived home, she ran straight right away to the bathroom to take a bath :-)

She Almost Made It...

Chloe was one of the contestants for Math Quiz Bee today. I went to school to watch and give support to her. They were told that there will be 3 rounds: Easy, Average and Difficult. There were supposed to be 50 contestants but some were absent so the contest went on without them. My daughter perfected her score at the Easy and Average round. Some who got more than 2 mistakes were not allowed for the next level. For the Difficult level, there were less than 10 of them left, however, Chloe got 2 mistakes. She knew she was mistaken with her answer but since they were not allowed to erased it, so she went on with that solution. Well, Chloe almost did it but since they wanted to trim down the contestants to 3 only, so Chloe did not qualify anymore on the "clincher" round. But still, I was proud of her because she really did her best. It was her first exposure to a quiz bee contest, too. I told her beforehand to just enjoy the contest and don't be sad if she won't make it and that's what she did. She was, instead, looking forward for the next quiz bee..that's the spirit Chloe. Besides, there's still plenty of next time ;-)

Today, my baby sister Zoe turns 3 months old. She's a happy baby just like me - that's what my mom said to me. Zoe is sooo cute! Her cheeks are fat, her eyes are a little bit chinky, her legs are quite fat also but she's a beautiful baby!
I thank God for giving me a sister! I love her and I'll be happy share my toys and things with her. She can even wear my costumes, my gowns and some shoes because it won't fit me anymore! When it's time for her to go to school, I will teach her with her lessons if she thinks it's difficult. I will be her protector, a friend and her proud Ate Chloe!! I love to play with her also cause she's so nice!

Chloe the Artist: Bambi

Chloe, my 7-year-old daughter, loves the story about Bambi. She's also fond of his friends like Thumper, Flower, Faline and Friend Owl. I bet most of you have watched the story of this Prince of the Forest and how he was able to save the lives of his friends from fire. Bambi, one of Disney's classic stories, is mostly the child's all-time favorite show.

Chloe received a Bambi book as a gift on her previous birthday and how elated she was! From time to time she read the book and also tried to make sketches on the characters. Last week, Chloe was in the mood for sketching (and coloring) Bambi out from her imagination and this is how she depicted it (see below):

I think my mom posted in her blog what I looked like in my school uniform in my new school. I am currently in Grade One at St. Mary's School. My school time starts at 8:40 am and ends at 11:40 am. Our school started last June 16, 2010 and now I slowly gained new friends. I love school and favorite subjects are Math, Civics, English, Science and Computer.

And every Friday, we have our P.E. class and this is what I looked like:

I am quite busy with my studies these days. I'm trying to be independent, too, now that I am a big sister. I'm glad that my mom has still time for me even though I saw her so tired and lack of sleep after taking care of my baby sister. Sometimes, I am being naughty to her that I am being scolded but it's my fault anyway. I know she loves me very much and I think she wants me to grow up to be a good girl. Sometimes, I understand that my mom's cranky already because apart from being busy at home, I love to make a mess :D I'm trying to be a good girl and a good Ate, you see. It's just that I am still a little girl and for all she knows, I am just being creative that's why I love to cut, draw, get pieces of paper to color and paint and who knows, I might be an artist someday :D:D

Meet My Baby Sister

Announcing to you the birth of my baby sister, Zoe Ysabella. She was born on July 12, 2010. I'm now a certified and proud Ate to my baby sibling. And I'm proud to say I am the one who gave her her second name, Ysabella. Zoe's name was chosen by daddy and mommy because it means Life. And I just found out that one of their favorite characters in Percy Jackson book is Zoë the huntress. Below are the pictures of my sister:

Mommy Moments: Motherhood

It's been quite a while since my last entry at Mommy Moments. Glad to be back here again. To some of you who don't know yet, I'm on my 7 1/2 months of pregnancy. My first born Chloe will turn 7 this coming July and I'll be giving birth to my second child on the same month, too. Motherhood is a wonderful feeling. I may not be a perfect mom but I tried my best to instill good values and proper decorum to my little girl. At times I am strict, at times I am not. But God knows how much I love my child, I just don't want her to turn into a spoiled brat and with no respect to parents. I may sound like I want to teach my child how to behave and do the right thing but in some ways, my child has taught me a lot, too. I've learned how to deal with her temper or tantrums.

Chloe & Me

My child taught me a lot of things that I didn't see before. I've learned to widened my horizon, to love unconditionally, to be sensitive of her needs and a lot more. With my child (or children) around, I don't have a place to feel lonely anymore. They are my treasure and they are God's blessings to me. I just pray that when my kids grow up, they will recall more on my good deeds and not on my negative side. I pray that they will grow up to be God-fearing, respectful and know how much I love them.

Hello! I'm here again. If you're not aware of what's going on, well, I'm going to be a big sister soon! My mom will give birth on July. I don't know the date yet, maybe it might fall on July 18 --- my 7th birthday! But I will just leave that to my mom, my angel or whatevah. As long as my mom and baby sibling are healthy and safe then I will be very happy about it.

Hello Everyone! It's been weeks that my mom wasn't able to post any entry here in my blog. Pardon my mom as she's very busy packing lots of our things - not to mention my tons of toys, hehehe... Definitely by next week we're settled at our new place. We're at my grandma's house right now so thankfully, my mom's able to do blogging here.

I love being a mommy. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful and beautiful gift - my daughter. My daughter is already 6 six years old and doesn't seem to slow down to grow each day. She's already in Kinder 2 and I'm proud to say that she's doing well at school. And although she had her share of tantrums at times, overall, she's a good and sweet little girl. These are the things that are precious to me. And how I love her hug, her smile and she's everything to me and to her dad...

Playing the piano and sang a song during her 6th B-DAY

When Chloe was still a few months old, I could tell that she was musically-inclined. I used to hum or sang her a song and sometimes she tried to follow me. When she was almost 2 years old, she loved to sing even though her words were not clear yet.

Anyway, when she was in Nursery, her teacher requested her to sing during their school program. Everybody was happy and I was proud of her performance, too. She's now in K-2 and she's still requested by her teacher to sing a song during their school activity.

Then, she got interested in playing the piano so, I enrolled her to a piano class last summer and so far, she's been doing good. And now, I am thinking of enrolling her to a violin lesson --- very, very soon ;)

Hello! Just wanna share with you some of the pictures taken on my 6th Birthday. I enjoyed the party and I really had fun. My relatives, my teachers and few classmates attended my party. I donned the Tinker Bell costume and other kids came with their fantastic outfits, too.

I had Hello Kitty as my mascot (she's 1 of my favorite characters). I danced Hannah Montana's Hoedown Throwdown with my classmates and cousins, recited a poem (All Thing's Bright and Beautiful) and sang Connie Talbot's Somewhere over the Rainbow and Miley Cyrus' The Climb and played lots of games! :D

I was really happy on my birthday & totally had a blast! hehe.. 6 years old is sure lotsa fun!

My short stint as Kiddie Crew at McDonald's was fun and memorable. I met new friends and learned a lot of new things during my 1 week "work". By end of May, we had our Graduation Ceremony. It was a blast! I totally enjoyed the games and the appearance of the two Mascots, McDonalds (I thought he was a little McDonald) and Birdie (not sure, though, of his/her name (",))

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

After watching Connie Talbot's rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow at Youtube, Chloe was a certified fan of hers. Connie, who was 6 and toothless at time she joined Britain's Got Talent, wowed the audience and the judges with her very beautiful voice. My little girl was very amazed, too, that she tried to imitate Connie and even trying to sing the song using the Karaoke. Chloe also tried to look for the correct notes in our keyboard to think I just enrolled her to a piano lesson a week before she saw Connie's video.

Can't get enough of her, Chloe made her own interpretation of Somewhere Over The Rainbow by sketching and coloring it. But she was almost upset after realizing she mispelled the word 'somewhere' but her Tita Bogie told her it's ok. She tried to correct it but you can barely see it here. See her drawing below:

Chloe had her Kiddie Crew stint at McDonald's last week. Since I didn't enroll her to a summer class, I thought she might do some extra curricular activities and have some fun when not in school. Kiddie crew was only good for 5 days but I think most of what they did was to do some art workshop. They were too small to serve foods to people, anyway, and my little girl indeed had some fun and had a great time with her new-found friends!

Chloe the Artist 4

I guess I have not posted some of Chloe's sketches lately. She drew a lot of things/objects everyday. But since she's using her Magic board, it's very easy for her to erase it. Sometimes, I was too late to take a picture of her sketches. I sometimes prefer that she use the paper to draw so that I can scan her drawings later but she really preferred her Megasketcher... oh, well.

These were the things that Chloe saw when she was hospitalized. There was a plaster, cotton balls, tube for the dextrose, needle, small needle to prick her finger, there's a big syringe/needle and a tourniquet.

She loves to watch Disney's Magic English. One episode talked about Time/Clock.

She loves to watch Dora, too. Guess this episode talked about Music or the Piano

Sorry, this is quite dark to see. Well, obviously this is a horse that's galloping. Whew, I, myself really don't know how to draw a horse~

This is her own version of Bathroom. This amazed me...this would have been perfect except that the shower was too small/low, hehe.

Hair ala Suri Cruise ;)

After Chloe was discharged from the hospital last week, I decided to have her hair trimmed. She did not agree at first because she doesn't like to have a short hair. I explained to her that it's summer and that she needs a hair cut because it's very long already and it gets messy most of the time. And besides, it will grow again. She has inherited my very thick hair, too, you know. I also told her that she will have the same hair like her favorite Cartoon character, Dora (hehehe). She agreed - reluctantly.

So, I brought her to a beauty parlor and had her hair trimmed. But when she saw that her hair has slowly been cut shorter, she avoided to look at the mirror. After it was finished, she said she was not beautiful anymore because her hair was already short. She said only girls with long hair were beautiful. But I told her whether her hair is long or short, she will always be beautiful. I was a little sad of her reaction but well, as I've said, it will grow again.

I tried to cheer her up again with her hair. I told her that she didn't look like Dora at all but she looks like Suri Cruise. Well, she knew about this famous little celebrity (I have a magazine where Suri's been featured) and Chloe gave me a big smile after that. She said Suri is beautiful - and that Suri is her friend, haha. So, I just went on with her conversation, agreeing with her and after that, she gave me her beautiful and sweetest smile.

Last Thursday, March 19, 2009, I attended Chloe's Recognition Day. I was glad I was given a day off at the hospital and they granted my request to fall it on my daughter's most memorable event. My husband, who was sick, forced himself to show up because he missed Chloe's presentation last December due to sprained ankle.

I mentioned at Cookie's Corner that my daughter, Chloe, was featured at Disney's Princess magazine for March-April 2009 issue. I'm reposting in here her original picture for you to see :)

I actually sent them 3 pictures. The other 2, I think Chloe was wearing her Belle and Fairy costumes which I featured in here months ago. But they decided to post her mermaid picture.

(By the way, Julie, the one who took Chloe's pictures is a friend of my mine and is now a photographer in Manila. She made Chloe her 1st kiddie model last year when she was still new in photography).

Anyways, it's best if you can buy this magazine, too! Your kids (especially the girls) will surely love it and so are you, mommies!

When I had mumps the other week, my daughter Chloe stayed at her Grandma's house together with her Tito Pet and Tita Bogie. I think she really enjoyed her stay in there that she told me over the phone that she would go home by March 25 or maybe April. Duh!... as if I'm going to allow it, hehe. You can tell that she really had a grand time in there just by looking at the pictures below. She put on jewelries, fake colored nails, borrowed her Tita's blouse and readied herself to strike a pose for the camera... And then she told me over the phone that she looks like Britney Spears - well, I thought she looks like a Persian princess, hehehe...

I thought of sharing these pictures of ours when we were all babies. I am fully aware about the people's comments that Chloe looks more like her dad. However, my mom would insist that Chloe resembled like me when I was still a baby, hehe. I do look very different now compared to my babyhood days. I cannot even find any traces of me except maybe for my eyes (?- duh) :p

Yesterday, after Chloe went to school, I sent her directly to her grandma's house because I got sick and got contracted with mumps. I think it's best that she's there for the meantime while my illness is still contagious and besides, I can't take care of her at home.

Well, I just found out later that Chloe made a Valentine message at school for us. I just missed her terribly and even now while I'm typing this blog, I am very much teary-eyed. She's a very sweet little girl, you know. Oh-oh, I can't help but my tears starts to fall now. I was hoping that we could spend Valentine's Day together but I ended up not seeing her.

Anyway, I just want you to know, sweetheart, that Mommy and Daddy loves you very much. We will always love you unconditionally and until my last breath, I will forever protect and shield you from any harm. Mommy may be hard on you at times but my heart always ached everytime I scolded you. With that, I am very sorry.

I pray that you'll grow up to be a fine young lady and always be guided to the right path. And no matter what happens, we will always be there for you. Happy Valentine's day to you, Chloe Alexandra.

Last weekend, my mom and I went to visit my baby cousin Clark. Oh, he is so cuddly and cute. I kept imitating baby Clark's mommy (Tita Anna) on how to take care of the baby. And since I don't have a real baby sister or brother yet - or even a baby toy doll! - I carried chicky the stuff toy like a baby and sang a song for him, too! I really had a great time that I wish to visit again tomorrow :)

Fur, Feather, Shell. That's what Chloe wanted me to type right now. Fur is for the sheep, Feather is for the Peacock and Shell is for the Turtle...and then there's a flower of course :)

Musical Instruments: Violin, Drum, Trumpet, Flute, Caracas, Piano, Guitar, Harp, Xylophone. My daughter really loves music that she could distinguish the instruments. I hope to enroll her to a violin or piano lesson this summer.

Finally, new updates on Chloe. I got sick for the past few days and then I got busy with my own blog, at Cookie's Corner, that I wasn't able to make a blog in here. Ok, enough explaining on that.

Chloe watched Tinkerbell last week and how she loved it! Actually, the story was very cute because even I, was entertained. So, from that day on, she's been watching it over and over again.

Tinkerbell has a mouse named Cheese. And my daughter, Chloe the Artist, made a sketch on this cute mouse. She even put a label or wrote the Mouse's parts of the body. And Chloe said that Cheese, a Baby Mouse, is a Good Mouse.

Chloe is so amazed with Google Earth. What she usually searches there is Cinderella's Castle in Disney World, Florida. Really, if I only had enough cash in my wallet, I would take her there :) She searches for Africa, too, because her favorite Madagascar animals escaped in there. She also loves to search for places that she's been to lately, like the Camiguin Island. Not contented with her curiosity, she would sometimes take her small globe with her and compare with what she saw on Google Earth.

She learned that we live in the Philippines, so, she viewed it and asked me so many questions. Well, this is the time where most kids ask so many Whats, Wheres, and Whys, so the best thing to do is just give them some answers.

Animal Stories

Chloe loves stories about animals. She was so happy to watch The Land Before Time, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar. She even memorized all the characters. It was also in these films where she learned what are the different kinds of animals, what kind of species or what herd do they belong.

Today, she was so happy to see these lovable fellas again: Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria, from the movie, Madagascar:Escape to Africa. And when we went home, she immediately looked for her 'Magic Board' and draw what she saw in the movie. Too bad, she erased it immediately before I could even take a picture of Skipper (the penguin) and the Lemur.

And now, Chloe is already looking forward to watch Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Well, she will just have to wait for about two months to watch it on the big screen again.

Chloe's Planet

I'm gonna share in here the developmental milestone of my little lady. After all, I made this blog for her ;)

I’m happy to know that Chloe is doing well at school, that is, according to her teacher. Actually, I have no problem tutoring her, which is good I think because I only have very little patience, hehe. Her memory amazes me, she easily memorizes things even if she encounters them just once. Even before entering Nursery, she knew about and could easily identify the ABC’s . At the age of 4, she knew how to count the numbers up to 100 (now, she has reached up to 200+) and can also write them in figures. She was also fascinated with the planets and solar system and at 4 ½ years old, she could memorize the planets randomly and even describe which one is the red planet, the windy planet, the hot planet, etc. She also knew the names of the moons of Neptune, Jupiter (not all though, 'coz Jupiter has so many moons) and even Pluto (which by the way is no longer considered a Planet).

She loves her Encyclopedia the most and is so amazed with the animals, especially dinosaurs (she could tell which one is a Triceratops, a T-Rex or Apatosaurus) and also anything that lived during Ice Age Era. I don’t even know what an Armadillo looks like until she drew it. Before turning 5, she could read a lot of words and could even spell them correctly. Now that she’s 5, she has memorized the months from January to December and days from Monday to Sunday. She is also reading books that are not for pre-school anymore, and even attempted to read the subtitle in the anime series that I happened to watch. I’m just so proud of her. I’m glad she’s not like her mom who can’t seem to focus on what she’s reading, hehe.

Chloe the Artist

Chloe was around 3 years old when she got interested in sketching/drawing. At one time, we went to the mall and she saw the MegaSketcher. She called it a Magic Board. As we were about to leave the mall, she was crying because she had wanted to get the drawing board but we refused because we had just bought a new toy for her. To get our attention, she sat on the floor and cried so loud. It was the first time she did that to us. It was so hard to calm her down that we ended up buying the board. But Chloe really did not waste this thing that she wanted the most. Her drawing skills improved and she became so artistic at the age of 4. Now that she’s 5, she can draw more complicated things that amazed us. The magic board really helped her a lot. She's been using it everyday since December of 2006 and up until now.

Halloween Fun Day

Chloe and her schoolmates had their fun day activity at school last Thursday, and the children were asked to dress up in Halloween costumes. She usually loves to wear princess or fairy costumes, but for a change, she dressed up as a Vampire. You can see her pictures below…

The kids really had fun. Aside from games and prizes, Pizza Hut also facilitated a pizza–making activity. The kids were the ones to make their own pizza. It was fun watching them as they put in the sauce, cheese and bacon on their pizzas. After baking, the finished product was given for them to eat.

Rosary Month

October is the month of Holy Rosary for us Catholics. We start praying the rosary on the 1st day of October up until the 31st. My daughter, who is now five years old, usually prays with me at night and I'm very happy that she already knows how to recite The Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, Glory Be and Oh, My Jesus. Just recently, she already memorized the Creed and the Memorare. And for several nights, she leads the prayer. She even knows how to move the beads of the rosary with her tiny little hands.

Julie the Photographer

One of my wakwak friends & good friend, Julie, came over to my place. Even though she's already a Nurse (like me), Julie ventured into a new hobby - Photography. She brought with her her Canon camera, which I'm not good at describing. All I know is that the Paparazzis are using that kind of camera :). Julie wanted my daughter, Chloe, to 'model' for her. The shots were taken in our home, hoping that next time, we could find a better outdoor venue. She may be a neophyte in Photography right now but I believe she could be successful in her newfound career. Her eagerness, creativity and passion for photography would make her achieve her greatest endeavor in life.

Chloe's 5th Birthday (My Little Singer 2)

Chloe Alexandra celebrated her 5th Birthday last July 18, 2008 at her school. For the past 5 years, I've always planned ahead on what to do on Chloe's birthday. And everything was personalized. Lootbags, prizes, giveaways, etc, were done by yours truly. And she always had a party held in a hotel. But this year, i let the McDonald's crew do the stuff for me. Since Chloe wanted to be like Princess Belle on her birthday, she had a Disney Princess-themed party with her teachers and classmates, after which we had a small party in the evening held at home with just a few friends and relatives. But what made it special was that she showed her talent at school. Never a shy one, she always volunteer to sing in front of her classmates. I'm hoping to hone her talent more because, well, who knows?...This may end up as her career in the future, hehehe. My Little Singer

I love to talk about my little kid. Everyday, she amazes me. When she was less than a year old, I could tell she loves to sing. When I hummed a song for her, she would hum, too. She loves to listen to music, especially classical & religious music. She would fall asleep by listening Psalty’s Kid’s Praise & Worship songs; Don Moen’s songs were her favorite during naptime. Less than 2 years old, she could sing a few lyrics, although some words were not clear to hear, but you could tell she was singing to that song. She could easily follow a melody; she’s not deaf-toned. At 3 years old, she knew how to sing already but she could not finish the whole lyrics. She was already musically-inclined. When she almost turned 4 years old, she knew how to sing the Tagalog song titled “Torete”. She even sang that song during her 4th party birthday where she entertained her guests, also Britney Spears’ “Lucky”. At 4 1/2, she mastered plenty of songs. I’m proud to say that a ‘Star is Born’ in our family :). She learned and memorized Cristina Aguilera’s Reflection, Jessica Simpson’s version of Part of That World, Alladin’s A Whole New World and the song from Beauty and the Beast. She learned these songs barely a month of practicing and her voice quality is improving a lot. Her memory is sharp. I love to sing but I could not easily recall the lyrics like Chloe. I love to sing but my voice range is limited. I could say that I’m a desperate singer but I guess it’s my little Chloe who will continue to shine in this aspect and I’m very glad and proud to pass it on to her. May she continue to develop this talent of hers, and who knows?… At school, her teacher always asked her to sing on the stage or sing front of her classmates or sing during school programs. I was glad to know that she did not inherit my being 'mahiyain'. She just turned 5 last July 18, 2008 and she had a party at school where she sang her favorite Disney songs. Picture Perfect

These pictures I posted were taken last year, March 23, 2007, to be exact. It was the wedding of my older brother and my sister in law.

I SO LOVE this picture not only because my little Chloe was on it but of how it was taken. I commend the photographer for coming up with a pose so unique. If anyone had no inkling about it, people would think that these pair were mother and daughter looking lovingly to each other. But my little Chloe loved every minute of their photo op especially with her Tita Bogie.

I like the silhouette effect that served as their background. It created a dramatic effect and a sense of tranquility and the result was amazing. I was even hoping to have these pictures published to any wedding magazine but I don't know where and how. So meantime, I will just use my blog to post their picture perfect pose.

I love this poem so much. I was in my 4th grade when I read and learned about this poem. Although I have forgotten some of the lines when I grew up, I am so thankful to have found this poem at the back of Chloe’s baby book. I hope that we, parents, should try to apply this to our children to make them confident, competent and mold them into a better person as well.

I married at exactly 27 years old & gave birth at 28…For me, it was just the right time. And my bundle of joy came just at the right moment! Some of you moms would agree with me that pregnancy is not that easy, but at the same time, it’s a wonderful experience. The craving & the morning sickness (though I’m very lucky not to have experienced those!), the back aches, the changes in your tummy, the Braxton hicks..oh! I love those kicks my little one gave me when she was inside my tummy.

But the most beautiful of all was when I finally got to see her! Although my labor pain was really terrible…and in the end, I delivered her via caesarian. But it didn't matter, 'coz what’s more important was that I got to meet her.. and I could really say that my labor was way more painful than with the surgical procedure I went thru, or maybe I was just too excited to see her.

My baby girl was born at last! She’s the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen. After being given a dose of anesthesia for me not to feel pain & for me to sleep, my doctor was surprised to see me still awake. She let me see my kiddo, even as I was still lying in the operating table…She was such a beautiful sight to see. She was already asleep & was kept warm, I took note of her pinkish cheeks and counted her little fingers & toes. Thank God they were complete, hehe. She’s truly God’s greatest gift to me! I couldn’t hide my tears, I just couldn't believe I was finally seeing her. She was really a sight to behold!
